Fan Qiao

Dr. Fan Qiao serves as an Associate Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School's Centre for Quantitative Medicine, where she leads genetic and genomic research on complex human traits with emphasis on ocular disorders, gene-environment interactions, and precision health analytics through high-dimensional data.

Her academic foundation includes:

Her research integrates statistical genetics with clinical epidemiology to investigate genetic pleiotropy across health/behavioral traits and develop risk prediction models. Key methodologies include genome-wide association studies (GWAS), meta-analyses, and Mendelian randomization applied to refractive error, age-related macular degeneration, and glaucoma. Recent work extends to leadership genetics and complementary medicine trials.
