Fajer B Jaafari

Dr. Fajer B Jaafari is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Physics at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), part of the College of Science. She holds a PhD and MS in Physics from UTA (2009 and 2004, respectively) and a BS in Physics & Chemistry from Al Baath University (1992). Her teaching focuses on foundational physics courses, energy studies, and astronomy, including PHYS 1351 (Energy and Environment), ASTR 1345/1346 (Introductory Astronomy), and PHYS 3360 (Physics of the Human Body). She received the Shareff Award from UTA's Physics Department in 2005. Her research includes a 2008 study on ionospheric plasma dynamics. Recent grants include a 2024 Innovative Teaching Proposal (Local Funds, $6,000). She actively serves on university committees, including the Experiential Major Map and CEHSC initiatives. Her work emphasizes curriculum development and online education quality (QM requirements).
