Fadil Bidmos

Dr. Fadil Bidmos is a Proleptic Associate Professor in Bacterial Vaccinology at the Department of Infectious Disease, Imperial College London (Faculty of Medicine), with affiliations to the Centre for Paediatrics and Child Health, Section of Paediatric Infectious Disease, and the Institute of Infection. His research focuses on developing next-generation vaccines against bacterial pathogens like Neisseria meningitidis and Streptococcus pneumoniae, utilizing advanced techniques such as Reverse Vaccinology 2.0 and synthetic cell engineering. He also addresses antimicrobial resistance and contributes to the One Health agenda through translatable vaccine development tools.

Education: BSc Cell Biology and Genetics (University of Lagos, Nigeria, 2000-2005), MSc and PhD in Molecular Genetics (University of Leicester, UK). Recognitions include Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (2016), Chartered Fellowship of the UK Chartered Management Institute (2023), and prestigious UK MRC and NIH grants. His work emphasizes pandemic prevention and bioterrorism threats of zoonotic bacterial origin.

Research interests span bacterial vaccinology, medical microbiology, immunology, public health, and clinical sciences.
