Dr. Fabrizio Nichele is a quantum physicist affiliated with IBM Research – Zurich Lab and previously as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Center for Quantum Devices and Station Q Copenhagen of the University of Copenhagen. His research focuses on topological superconductivity, Josephson junctions, and spin-orbit coupling in hybrid superconducting-semiconductor systems.
He earned a PhD in Physics from ETH Zurich and a Master’s degree from Politecnico di Milano, receiving the ETH Medal for his doctoral work. He has been recognized with an ERC Starting Grant (2018) and a Marie Curie Individual Fellowship.
