Fabrizio Marrella

Fabrizio Marrella is a Full Professor of International Law (SSD GIUR-09/A) at Ca' Foscari University of Venice, where he is affiliated with the Department of Economics and the Interdepartmental School of Economics, Languages and Entrepreneurship for International Exchanges. He serves as Director of two Master's programs: the Master's Degree in Geopolitics and Economics Affairs and the Master's Degree in Strategic Studies and International Security. Additionally, he is a Member of the Steering Committee of the 'Observatory of Politics and International Relations (OPRI)' and the Senate Commission for Institutional Relations with Non-European Countries.

Professor Marrella's research focuses on International Law, with particular expertise in International Trade Law, International Investment Law, Arbitration, and Maritime Law. His work explores the intersection of international legal frameworks with economic activities, corporate social responsibility, and human rights. He has made significant contributions to understanding the application of UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights in international investment contexts, the resolution of maritime disputes, and the evolution of international arbitration practices.

His extensive publication record from 1996-2024 demonstrates consistent scholarly contributions across multiple dimensions of international law. Recent work examines the impact of digital platforms on arbitration, the effects of armed conflicts on investment treaties, and trade liberalization within political frameworks such as the Eurasian Economic Union. His scholarship bridges theoretical legal analysis with practical applications in international commerce and dispute resolution.

Professor Marrella maintains regular office hours for students at both the Venice campus (Fridays 3:00-5:00 pm CET via Google Meet) and Treviso location (Fridays 5:30-7:30 pm CET via Google Meet), demonstrating his commitment to student engagement and academic mentorship.
