Fabiola Serra Fuertes

Fabiola Serra Fuertes serves as a Senior Lecturer at Central Washington University, teaching Fundamentals in Biology and Human Physiology from her office in Science Building 338. Her expertise bridges academic instruction with extensive hands-on veterinary experience in Peru and the United States.

Field work in Peru addressed critical challenges in remote farming communities, developing sustainable crop-animal relationships and improving husbandry practices for llamas and small ruminants through community-based education.

As Veterinary School Director at Alas Peruanas University, she mentored students through practical instruction in Animal Handling, Parasitology, and Small Ruminants while establishing a goat teaching farm operated by veterinary students. Her supervision of FONDOEMPLEO-PERU agricultural projects directly advised remote farming families on business development and resource optimization.

She created applied learning environments including the goat teaching farm at Alas Peruanas University and led field teams at Hinterland Llama Ranch managing herds of approximately 200 llamas, overseeing reproductive programs, and preparing animals for competitions.
