Fabio Scenini

Professor Fabio Scenini holds a dual appointment as Professor at the University of Manchester and Research Area Lead for Material Systems for Demanding Environments at the Henry Royce Institute. His work addresses critical materials challenges in nuclear power generation and aerospace engineering through advanced performance testing and mechanistic analysis.

His academic foundation includes a Mechanical Engineering degree from Politecnico di Milano, MSc in Corrosion from UMIST, and Ph.D. from the University of Manchester. Career progression saw promotion to senior lecturer (2017), reader (2020), and professor (current rank).

Research centers on corrosion phenomena in extreme environments, with specific expertise in stress corrosion cracking, hydrogen embrittlement, and oxidation of nickel-base alloys.
