معرفی
Fabio Patrone is an Assistant Professor at the University of Genoa's Department of Electrical, Electronic, and Telecommunications Engineering and Naval Architecture (DITEN). His research focuses on satellite communication networks, cybersecurity, and 5G/6G integration. He holds a Ph.D. from the Satellite Communications and Networking Laboratory (SCNL), where his thesis addressed routing algorithms in DTN networks.
Education: BEng and MEng in Telecommunication Engineering (University of Genoa, 2010-2013), followed by a Ph.D. in Satellite Communications (2017). His work spans satellite-DTN integration, IoT solutions with aerial/satellite networks, and machine learning for intrusion detection systems.
Research interests: Cybersecurity in industrial/agricultural IoT, satellite-terrestrial network convergence, edge computing orchestration in LEO constellations, and latency optimization in non-terrestrial networks. He has developed frameworks like OpenSatRange for satellite network testing and proposed reinforcement learning-based handover strategies.
Recent work trends show strong focus on hybrid satellite-terrestrial 5G networks, AI-driven network management, and vulnerability assessment of critical infrastructure systems. His articles address both theoretical advancements (e.g., graph neural networks for routing) and applied solutions (e.g., SDR-based cybersecurity frameworks).
Acknowledgments: No scientific awards explicitly mentioned. Active in advising on ANChOR project (data-driven network orchestration) and developing lab infrastructure at SCNL. Collaborates with industry partners on edge computing and smart grid applications.
Labs/Teams: Core member of Satellite Communications and Networking Laboratory (SCNL), contributing to projects like E-CGR energy-aware routing and Coldsel congestion mitigation algorithms. Engaged in UAV/satellite integration initiatives for IoT expansion in rural areas.
