Fabio Ghironi holds the Paul F. Glaser Professorship in Economics at the University of Washington's College of Arts & Sciences. His research expertise spans international macroeconomics, monetary economics, and macroeconomic theory, with particular focus on global economic interactions and policy transmission mechanisms.
Ghironi obtained his Ph.D. in Economics from UC Berkeley (1999) following graduate studies at Bocconi University in Milan, where he earned both his Laurea cum Laude in Economic and Social Sciences (1993) and M.A. in Economics (1994). His scholarly work examines international business cycles, exchange rate dynamics, and the macroeconomic implications of globalization.
At the University of Washington, Ghironi contributes to graduate and undergraduate economics education while maintaining active research collaborations internationally. His work addresses fundamental questions in open-economy macroeconomics using dynamic stochastic general equilibrium models and other advanced theoretical frameworks.
