Fabio Bruno is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mechanical, Energetics and Management Engineering (DIMEG), University of Calabria, specializing in Design and Methods of Industrial Engineering (ING-IND/15). He obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering in 2006 and has been teaching since 2000, covering courses like Virtual Prototyping, Rapid Prototyping, and Augmented Reality.

- Projects: Principal Investigator for VISAS, BLUEMED, TECTONIC, and DiveSafe; involved in 30+ EU/Italy-funded projects
His research focuses on Virtual and Augmented Reality applications in industrial design, underwater cultural heritage preservation, and 3D modeling. He leads the 3D Survey - Computer Aided Design laboratory and co-founded spin-off companies 3DResearch and Tech4Sea, which develop underwater technologies.
Recent publications highlight his work on 3D reconstruction, AR tools for industry, and underwater robotics. He collaborates with international institutions in Spain, Germany, France, and Czech Republic.
He has been a scientific manager for multiple research grants and has tutored four Ph.D. students in Mechanical Engineering.
