Prof. Fabio Braggion is a Full Professor of Finance and Financial History at Tilburg University, affiliated with the Tilburg School of Economics and Management (TiSEM). He is a CEPR Fellow and ECGI Member. His research focuses on financial history, banking, corporate finance, fintech, and financial intermediation. Braggion holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Northwestern University and teaches courses in corporate finance and financial history. His recent work examines topics such as online debt crowdfunding, the South Sea Bubble, regulatory arbitrage in China, and the impact of inflation on investor behavior. He has published in top journals like the Journal of Financial Economics and Management Science.

Research Interests:
Prof. Braggion explores historical and modern financial systems, including the role of financial intermediation, credit markets, and regulatory frameworks. His work combines empirical analysis with historical case studies to understand long-term economic phenomena. Recent studies include the effects of inflation on investor portfolios during hyperinflation periods and the dynamics of mergers in historical banking sectors.
