Fabienne Doucet is an Associate Professor of Education at New York University (NYU Steinhardt). She serves as Content Area Director for Early Childhood Education in the Department of Teaching and Learning, with affiliations to the NYU Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies and the Interuniversity Institute for Research and Development (INURED) in Haiti.
- Education: B.A. in Behavioral Science (Child Development) from Messiah College (1995); M.S. and Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (1998, 2000)
Her research examines the educational experiences of immigrant and U.S.-born children of color, particularly Haitian immigrants, using ethnographic methods to analyze how structural factors like race, nationality, and socioeconomic status shape educational outcomes and parent-school interactions. She integrates perspectives from developmental psychology, sociology, and anthropology.
