FRANCISCO JAVIER DIEZ MORRAS

FRANCISCO JAVIER DIEZ MORRAS is an Associate Professor at the Universidad de Burgos, affiliated with the Department of History, Geography and Communication under the Faculty of Humanities and Communication. He holds a PhD in Humanities from the Universidad de La Rioja (2019), where he received the Premio Extraordinario de Doctorado, and a Law Degree (1996) and Master in Contemporary International Migrations (2010) from the Universidad de Zaragoza and Universidad Pontificia Comillas, respectively.

His research focuses on Contemporary History, particularly the spread of Liberalism in Spain, historical sociology, and political-religious conflicts from the 18th to 21st centuries. His work examines Freemasonry, the Inquisition, ecclesiastical liberalism, and urban-rural dynamics during pivotal periods.

Recent publications highlight 19th-century liberal revolutions, anti-clerical movements, and scientific experimentation in rural Spain. He is associated with the research group DIACRONÍA Perspectivas Diacrónicas Castellanas, emphasizing diachronic analysis of Castilian history.
