FERNÁNDEZ ROSSIER, JOAQUIN IGNACIO

Joaquín Ignacio Fernández-Rossier is a full professor in the Department of Applied Physics at the University of Alicante, Spain. He leads the Nanophysics research group within the Institute of Materials (IU Materials). With 5 sexennia of research productivity and 4 quinquennia of teaching experience, he has supervised 10 doctoral theses and taught 9 different graduate/postgraduate courses over 10 years, including Quantum Mechanics and Nanoscience Foundations.

Research Focus: Specializes in quantum properties of nanoscale systems, particularly graphene-based materials and spin physics. Key contributions include theoretical models for spintronics in 2D systems, quantum coherent phenomena, and magnon-plasmon coupling in heterostructures.

Selected Publications: Notable works in Nano Letters, 2D Materials, and Nature Nanotechnology demonstrate expertise in nanographene lattices, superconducting graphene, and quantum polaritonics.
