F. Daniel Hidalgo

F. Daniel Hidalgo is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.A. from Princeton University. His research focuses on political representation, electoral behavior, and quantitative methods in developing democracies, particularly in Latin America. Hidalgo has received grants from the National Science Foundation, Fulbright Program, and the Experiments in Governance and Politics Network. His work examines informal institutions, clientelism, and causal inference in electoral contexts.
