Univ.-Prof. Dr. Ewald Wiederin serves as Professor of Public Law at the University of Vienna's Faculty of Law, leading the Institute for Constitutional and Administrative Law. His office is located at Schottenbastei 10-16 (Juridicum), Staircase II, 6th Floor, Room 639, 1010 Vienna. He maintains consultation hours on Tuesdays from 11:00-12:00 by advance appointment and has scheduled oral examinations in Constitutional Law and Fundamental Rights for October 2025.
Professor Wiederin's research focuses on State organization law, General administrative law, and Administrative procedural law. His scholarly work spans constitutional frameworks, administrative procedures, and federal structures with particular attention to the distribution of competences between governmental levels. His expertise is reflected in his long-standing academic career and leadership at one of Austria's premier law institutions.
His academic journey began with Matura at Kolleg Stella Matutina in Feldkirch (1979), followed by law studies at the University of Vienna (1979-1984). He served as University Assistant (1984-1995), completed his Habilitation in 1995, advised the Federal Chancellery's Constitutional Service (1995-1996), became Associate Professor at Vienna (1997-2000), Professor at Salzburg University (2000-2009), and has been Professor of Public Law at Vienna since 2009.
