Ewa Dabrowska is an Honorary Professor in the Arts and Law school. She holds expertise in Cognitive Linguistics, Language Acquisition, and individual differences in linguistic knowledge. Her research focuses on formulaic language, linguistic generalizations, and disparities in grammatical competence across speakers. She has conducted studies on bilingual acquisition, second language learning challenges, and the role of education in linguistic proficiency.
Ewa has been affiliated with institutions including the University of Sheffield, Northumbria, and the Max Planck Institute in Leipzig. She currently serves as President of the UK Cognitive Linguistics Association and previously edited Cognitive Linguistics journal. Her work has been recognized with the Alexander von Humboldt Professorship (2017).
