Evren Savci is Assistant Professor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Yale University, specializing in transnational queer and feminist critique. Her research examines sexual politics under neoliberal regimes, with focus on Turkey and Middle Eastern contexts. Authored Queer in Translation: Sexual Politics under Neoliberal Islam and co-edited Transnational Queer Materialism issue of South Atlantic Quarterly.
Research interests include queer materialism, political economy of monogamy, neoliberal Islam, and critiques of Western-centric queer theories. Her work challenges binaries like traditional/modern and global/local through translation methodologies.
Publications analyze queer temporalities, Palestinian solidarity, and commons in Turkey, employing interdisciplinary approaches blending political theory, sociology, and postcolonial studies.
