Evisa Mitrou

Evisa Mitrou is a Lecturer in Accounting at Queen Mary University of London's School of Business and Management, within the Department of Accounting and Financial Management. She holds a PhD in Accounting from the University of Exeter, along with MSc degrees in Applied Economics and Finance (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens) and Finance and Investment Management (University of Hertfordshire), and a BA in Economics.

Her research focuses on financial accounting regulation, corporate governance, pension accounting, and capital markets. She investigates how accounting disclosures and standards enhance market efficiency and inform regulatory practices. Evisa is a member of the Accounting & Accountability Research Group (AARG) and contributes to the European Accounting Association’s ARC Committee.

Evisa teaches courses such as International Financial Accounting and Corporate Reporting at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She currently co-supervises three doctoral students researching IFRS adoption, integrated reporting, and carbon asset risks.
