Evgenios Vlachos

Evgenios Vlachos is an Associate Professor in the Department of Research Documentation at the Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Institute, University of Southern Denmark. He holds a Ph.D. in Human-Centered Communication and Informatics from Aalborg University and is actively involved in research on human-robot interaction, soft robotics, and open science. He also serves as an Independent Ethics Expert for the European Commission since 2019.

His recent publications demonstrate a strong trend toward interdisciplinary work combining robotics, healthcare, and open research practices.

He has supervised multiple student projects in soft robotics and interdisciplinary research and has taught courses in scientific methods and responsible conduct of research. He has also contributed to national strategies on FAIR data and participates in key conferences as a speaker and committee member.

He leads and contributes to research labs and teams focused on soft robotics, emotional signaling, and open science infrastructure, particularly through the MMMI and collaborative EU initiatives.
