Justice Evelyn Keyes is a Professor in the Practice at Rice University, teaching legal philosophy. She served on the First Court of Appeals from 2002 until her retirement in 2020, having been appointed by Governor Rick Perry and subsequently re-elected for six-year terms. Previously, she practiced complex civil litigation as a partner at Clements, O'Neill, Pierce, Wilson, and Fulkerson, L.L.P., and served as a Special Assistant Attorney General for John Cornyn.
