معرفی
Eveline de Bont is a Professor in the Department of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG), part of the University of Groningen. She completed her medical training at the University of Amsterdam, specializing in Pediatrics, and earned her PhD in Medical Sciences at the University of Groningen in 1999. Her research focuses on VEGF/VEGFR signaling in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and pediatric brain tumors, with extensive collaborations at institutions like MD Anderson Cancer Center and Erasmus MC. She leads quality assurance initiatives for pediatric cancer care at UMCG and chairs key committees within the Dutch Childhood Oncology Group (DCOG).
**Education**:
- Medical School: University of Amsterdam (1982-1989)
- Pediatrics Residency and Fellowship: Pediatric Oncology/Hematology Division
- PhD in Medical Sciences: University of Groningen (1999)
**Research Interests**: Eveline de Bont’s work centers on molecular mechanisms of leukemia and brain tumors, particularly VEGF/VEGFR pathways. She investigates therapeutic targets and biomarkers for improved clinical outcomes, leveraging proteomic and genomic approaches. Her studies emphasize translational research, bridging laboratory findings with clinical applications.
**Publications**: Her recent work includes studies on chromatin profiles in AML, metabolic pathways in gliomas, and ototoxicity in pediatric cancer patients. These contributions highlight her expertise in both basic and clinical oncology research.
**Awards & Grants**: Recipient of multiple grants from the Dutch Cancer Society (KWF/NKB), SKOG, and KIKA. Notable awards include the 1994 Young Investigator Award from the European Society of Pediatric Infectious Diseases.
**Leadership & Collaborations**: Chair of AML and CML protocol committees in DCOG; collaborates internationally with NOPHO (Scandinavian consortium) and institutions in Hong Kong and Belgium. She is also board member of the international CML working group of the IBFM.
**Labs/Teams**: Leads the pediatric hematology/oncology division at UMCG, overseeing quality control systems involving multidisciplinary teams of clinicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals.
