معرفی
Evelien Maaskant-Reilink is a Researcher specializing in Sustainable Chemistry & Technology at Wageningen University & Research. Her work focuses on developing circular materials solutions with emphasis on polymer science and environmental sustainability.
Her research interests span Polymer Science, Sustainable Materials, and Microplastics Research, with significant contributions to CO2-based materials development and thermoset recycling technologies. She actively investigates plant-inspired building blocks for future plastics and predictive modeling of microplastic accumulation in natural environments.
Recent publications reveal strong trends in circular materials innovation (71% of fingerprint), particularly in thermoset plastics and polyester development. Her work bridges fundamental polymer chemistry with practical environmental applications, showing increasing focus on CO2 utilization and biodegradable alternatives.
She serves as Co-promotor for the PhD project Saloplastics: Safe, Biodegradable and Recyclable Circular Materials, supervising Engelhardt, J. since 2020. Her collaborative network includes significant work with Post, W. and Brouwer, M.T. on microplastics modeling.
Her research group focuses on creating recyclable polymer networks using dynamic covalent chemistry and developing predictive models for environmental microplastic behavior. Current projects emphasize practical implementation pathways for sustainable materials in building, textiles, and packaging sectors.
