Dr. Eve-Marie Quintin is an Assistant Professor at McGill University’s Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology (ECP), Faculty of Education. She serves as Program Director for Counselling Psychology, School/Applied Psychology, and directs the Behaviour Autism and Neurodevelopment (BAND) Research Group. She is also a William Dawson Scholar and holds affiliations with the Center for Research on Brain, Music, and Language, Azrieli Center for Autism Research, and Transforming Autism Care Consortium. Her clinical training includes specialization in child and adolescent neuropsychology with a clinical license from the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec.
Dr. Quintin earned a B.Sc. in Psychology from McGill University, a Ph.D. in Neuropsychology from Université du Québec à Montréal, and completed postdoctoral research at Stanford University and the Georgia Institute of Technology. Her research focuses on neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., autism spectrum disorder, fragile X syndrome), music perception, and brain development using neuroimaging. She investigates how music education impacts cognitive and social development in neurodiverse populations to improve educational and mental health interventions.
Her scientific contributions include studies on music-evoked emotions in autism, neuroimaging correlates of musical perception, and cognitive profiles in fragile X syndrome. She has received prestigious awards such as the William Dawson Scholar Award and Fonds de Recherche Québec Research Scholar distinction. She currently supervises graduate students in her lab and actively seeks to expand interdisciplinary collaborations.
