Evanthia Tselika is an Associate Professor at the University of Nicosia, where she teaches in the Department of Design and Multimedia within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. Her academic career combines visual arts research, writing, production, and education with a distinctive focus on socially engaged practices in urban conflict zones.

Dr. Tselika's research focuses on urban context, conflict transformation, community processes, and socially engaged art practices. She develops and researches participatory art practices within the context of segregated cities, with particular emphasis on Nicosia, Cyprus. Her work bridges artistic practice and social change, exploring how art can facilitate dialogue and understanding in divided communities through what she terms 'phygital' (physical + digital) approaches.
Her recent scholarly output demonstrates a strong interdisciplinary focus connecting visual arts with social sciences, urban studies, and peacebuilding. The thematic analysis of her publications reveals consistent exploration of conflict transformation through artistic interventions, contemporary Cypriot art identities, and the intersection of digital technologies with community art practices.
Dr. Tselika has received recognition for her work with an h-index of 10 according to Scopus metrics. Her research actively contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to peace, justice, and strong institutions.
She has coordinated significant projects including Phygital (Interreg Balkan Med funded, 2017-2020) and Shaping Common Paths (European Cultural Foundation, 2017-2018). She also collaborates with the Artecitya platform in the displaced estates by Artos Foundation in Nicosia.
Her institutional collaborations span internationally, including work with the Municipal Arts Centre in Nicosia, the Department of Antiquities of Cyprus, October Gallery in London, the Modern Art Museum of El Salvador, and MAC Niteroi, Brazil.
