Evans Igho Akpo is an Associate Professor of Leadership and Associate Dean at the School of Humanities and Leadership of Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas. His academic journey includes Bachelors and Masters degrees in International Relations from Webster University and a doctorate in Executive Educational Leadership from Houston Baptist University (now Houston Christian University). He has taught at Cosumnes River College, Webster University (Missouri and Tashkent campuses), and Warner Pacific University.

Akpo's research focuses on project-based learning and factors influencing first-generation Latinx student success, particularly through the lens of Tinto's Persistence Theory. His scholarly work includes the dissertation An Examination of Factors Influencing First Generation Latinx Students in South Texas: Based on Tinto's Persistence Theory and the article Are the Students Learning?.
He has maintained teaching roles across diverse institutions in the United States and international locations like Tashkent, Central Asia. His professional affiliations span multiple universities, and he adheres to a structured office schedule (8:15am-5:00pm, M-F).
