Evangelos Markopoulos

Dr. Evangelos Markopoulos is a Teaching Fellow (Lecturer) in Operations and Project Management at Queen Mary University of London's School of Business and Management. He holds a PhD in ICT Project/Investments Management, an MSc in Computer Science/Artificial Intelligence, and a BA in Computer Science. His expertise spans innovation management, social and sustainable entrepreneurship, knowledge management, and digital transformation with VR/metaverse applications. He has taught at multiple UK institutions and conducted research at TUAS-Finland, University of Turku, and Zayed University UAE.

Research Interests: Innovation management (disruptive), entrepreneurship (social and sustainable), knowledge management, enterprise engineering, digital transformation, and VR/metaverse applications. He has secured research grants totaling over €1 million, including projects on maritime safety VR training (MarISOT) and autonomous maritime ecosystems (SMARTER).

Publications: Over 120 peer-reviewed articles, including a textbook on organizational democracy and edited conference proceedings. Notable awards include Best Paper Awards at AHFE (2022), IEEE CogInfoCom (2019), and recognition from former US President Bill Clinton for student mentorship in global entrepreneurship competitions.

Teaching: Focuses on Applied Philosophy integrating historical thinkers' ideas to enhance student engagement. Courses include Operations Management, Project Management, and International Business Strategy. Mentorship has led to student victories in the UN Hult Prize and global sustainability competitions.

Industry Experience: Founded EMPROSS group of companies (project management, innovation development) and advised over 10,000 professionals through corporate training programs.
