Evan Vitiello

Evan Vitiello, MD is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He specializes in forensic psychiatry, correctional psychiatry, and medical ethics, providing clinical care to incarcerated individuals at Central Prison and managing patients with serious mental illnesses on inpatient units.

Dr. Vitiello teaches Psychiatry and the Law at the UNC School of Law and instructs psychiatry residents on forensic psychiatry. He serves as a Lead Ethics Consultant and Hospital Ethics Committee member at UNC, and evaluates patients with traumatic brain injuries through the Matthew Gfeller Center's THRIVE Program (veterans and first responders) and Brain and Body Program (retired NFL players).
