Evan Haefeli is a Professor of History at Texas A&M University, specializing in colonial America and the Atlantic World. His research focuses on Native American history, religious and political dynamics of early modern European expansion, and the origins of American religious freedom. He has held fellowships at prestigious institutions, including the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton.

His research interests include the religious and political consequences of European colonization, anti-Catholicism in early American society, and the diplomatic relationships of Indigenous nations like the Iroquois Confederacy. Publications include Accidental Pluralism (2021) and Against Popery (2020), reflecting his engagement with religious politics and imperial dynamics. His work bridges historical analysis with contemporary debates on pluralism and identity.
