Dr. Eva María Morán Antolín serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of the Balearic Islands. She maintains dual professional roles as both an academic faculty member and clinical specialist at Son Espases University Hospital, where she previously served as Teaching Coordinator of the Gynecology and Obstetrics Service until January 2023. Her teaching responsibilities include Clinical Practice in Obstetrics and Gynecology for the Medicine degree program in Mallorca, a role she has held continuously from academic year 2022-23 through the upcoming 2025-26 term.
Her educational background includes a Medical Degree from the University of Valladolid (1999), specialization in Mastology from the Autonomous University of Madrid (2003), and specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the University Hospital of Salamanca (2004). She also earned a Diploma in Advanced Studies and Research Sufficiency from the University of Salamanca (2003), completed postgraduate training at the University of Valencia (2004-2006), and is currently completing her doctoral thesis in the Health Sciences Doctoral Program at Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia.
Dr. Morán Antolín's research focuses primarily on obstetric complications during the COVID-19 pandemic, with multiple publications examining SARS-CoV-2 infection in pregnant women, cesarean section outcomes, vaccination impacts, and assisted reproduction technology outcomes. Her work demonstrates expertise in obstetric ultrasound, evidenced by her Expert Level certification from the Spanish Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics (2009). She has served as Principal Investigator for the SARS-CoV-2 Registry in pregnant women in Spain (2020-2021), sponsored by Puerta de Hierro Hospital and the Carlos III Institute in Madrid.
Her scholarly contributions include presentations at national and international conferences, including the World Congress on Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Spanish Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics Congress. She has also received notable recognition, including an award from the Royal Academy of Medicine of Salamanca for her work on Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and cardiovascular risk (2001).
