Eva Maria Novoa Pardo is a Research Professor leading the Epitranscriptomics and RNA Dynamics lab at the Centre de Regulació Genòmica (CRG) in Barcelona, Spain. She holds a BSc in Biochemistry (2007) and a PhD in Biomedicine (2012) from Barcelona, receiving top academic honors. Her postdoctoral work at MIT (USA) and the Garvan Institute (Australia) was funded by EMBO and HFSP grants. Her research focuses on RNA modifications (epitranscriptomics), their role in cellular regulation, and applications in disease diagnostics, particularly cancer. Key contributions include developing the Nano3P-seq sequencing method for transcriptome analysis.
Eva’s lab is internationally recognized, with grants from ERC, AECC, and others. Awards include the EMBO Young Investigator title and multiple Young Researcher Prizes. The lab’s work spans interdisciplinary collaborations, exploring RNA dynamics in health/disease and developing diagnostic tools. Recent activities include international team-building events and public science outreach via social media.
Key research areas: RNA modification mechanisms, nanopore sequencing innovations, and translational applications in cancer biology. Her team uses cutting-edge methods to study RNA modifications’ roles in cellular signaling and inheritance.
