معرفی
Eva Maria Farre Prokosch is a Professor in the Department of Plant Biology at Michigan State University. Her research focuses on molecular mechanisms of plant circadian clocks and their role in physiological adaptation to environmental cycles. She leads the Farre Lab, which investigates photosynthetic organisms like Arabidopsis, potato, and Nannochloropsis algae using molecular, computational, and physiological approaches.
- PhD from University of Potsdam, Germany
- NSF-funded research on light signaling and circadian clocks
- Developed genetic tools for Nannochloropsis
- Teaches BS161 (Cells and Molecules) and plant physiology courses
Research Interests: Circadian clock integration with metabolism, stress responses in crops, synthetic biology in algae, and light quality adaptation in aquatic environments. Her work bridges computational models with experimental validation to understand clock-gene interactions.
Scientific Awards:
- NSF CAREER award (2011)
Lab Collaborations: Collaborates with the Buell Lab (potato genomics) and interdisciplinary teams in biophysics and mathematical modeling. Current projects include NSF-funded studies on Nannochloropsis photoreceptors and potato circadian clocks.
