Eva Maria Candal Suarez

Eva Maria Candal Suarez is a professor at the University of Santiago de Compostela, affiliated with the Faculty of Biology and the Department of Functional Biology. She is associated with the Institute for Aquatic Research for Global Health (iARCUS) and leads research within the NEURODEVO group, focusing on the development and regeneration of the nervous system in fish.

She earned a doctorate in 2001 from the University of Santiago de Compostela with a thesis titled Proliferation and cell death in the brain and retina of teleosts, relation to Ol-KIP and reelin expression, supervised by Dra. Isabel Rodríguez-Moldes and Dr. Ramón Anadón Vázquez.
