معرفی
Dr. Eva Bertosin is an Assistant Professor at Utrecht University, leading her lab in the Bijvoet Centre for Biomolecular Research under the Membrane Biochemistry & Biophysics section. Her research focuses on re-engineering natural protein systems using DNA origami to create synthetic nanostructures that mimic biological functions such as protein folding and membrane manipulation.
- Academic Rank: Assistant Professor
- University: Utrecht University
- School: Bijvoet Centre for Biomolecular Research
- Department: Membrane Biochemistry & Biophysics
Eva’s work leverages DNA origami, single-molecule biophysics, transmission electron microscopy, fluorescence microscopy, cryo-electron microscopy, and flow-induced dispersion analysis. Her research aims to decode allosteric coupling and structural transitions in biomimetic systems for novel functional applications.
Recent trends in her publications highlight advancements in DNA origami for nuclear pore complex studies, synthetic life engineering, and nanoscale rotary mechanisms. These works emphasize interdisciplinary approaches bridging structural biology, biophysics, and nanotechnology.
- Scientific Awards: Veni Grant (NWO)
Starting May 2025, the Bertosin Lab will focus on developing user-defined biomimetic systems. She is actively recruiting researchers in (bio)chemistry and biophysics to join her team via direct contact or external funding programs.
