Eva Baumann

Eva Baumann is a Professor for Mass Communication at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media and leads the Hanover Center for Health Communication (HC³). Her work focuses on health communication, digital health engagement, and media reception in public health contexts. She has held leadership roles including Vice President for Science at her university (2021–2024) and Head of Department (2020–2021).

Her research explores health information seeking and avoidance behaviors, stigma in mental health and substance use, and the role of digital platforms in patient-provider interactions. She leads initiatives like the National Information and Communication Strategy on Diabetes and co-develops evidence-based guidelines for skin cancer prevention.
