Dr. Eunsoo Kim is a Research Associate and Adjunct Professor at the Richard Gilder Graduate School, American Museum of Natural History. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2006) and a B.S. from Seoul National University (2000).
Her research focuses on the evolution and ecology of single-celled eukaryotic flagellates, with emphasis on:
- Diversity and genomics of microbial eukaryotes
- Symbiosis as an evolutionary driver
- Origin and evolution of plastids
Recent publications (2010-2013) demonstrate strong focus on protist evolution, algal genomics, and endosymbiotic processes, with methodological expertise in phylogenetics and microscopic techniques.
