Eunice E. Santos

Eunice E. Santos is Professor at the School of Information Sciences, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Core Investigator at the Chicago Center for Diabetes Translational Medicine. Her research develops computationally intensive methods to model social networks and human behavior.

Santos applies computational approaches to understand community resilience, disaster response, and belief formation. Her interdisciplinary work connects computer science with social dynamics, cybersecurity, and health informatics.

Honors include IEEE and AAAS fellowships, the IEEE-CS Technical Achievement Award, and multiple teaching awards. Her research has been recognized by Crain's Tech 50 list in 2016 and 2018.

Current research examines how social factors influence decision-making during pandemics and develops models for diabetes management guideline adoption.
