Eung Gu Kim

Eung Gu Kim is a Professor at the Keyboard Department of the Mozarteum University, specializing in piano performance and new music. He studied at Seoul National University and Hochschule Mozarteum Salzburg under renowned mentors like Christoph Lieske, Max Rostal, and Alfons Kontarsky.

• Active as a soloist with orchestras such as the Mozarteumorchester Salzburg and Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz
• Collaborates with conductors like Kai Röhrig and composers including Luciano Berio, Wolfgang Rihm, and Jörg Widmann
• Premiered Wolfgang Rihm's Fantasia and performed works by Alfred Schnittke and Henryk Górecki
• Engaged with ensembles like Collegium Novum Zurich and Ensemble Modern Frankfurt

Research Interests: Span classical and romantic repertoire, 20th/21st-century music, piano duo/new music collaborations, and historical performance practices. His work bridges traditional and avant-garde musical traditions through performance and pedagogy.
