Eugenia Rodriguez is a core faculty member and Department Chair in the Department of Marriage & Family Therapy at Pacific Oaks College, with campuses in Pasadena and online. She also serves as Coordinator for both the Latinx Family Studies and LGBTQIA+ Studies programs, and holds leadership roles on key academic committees including Faculty Development, Curriculum Review, and Assessment.

Her research and professional work centers on trauma-informed care, LGBTQIA+ competencies, Latinx family systems, and cultural-centered pedagogy. She is deeply committed to social justice, anti-oppressive practices, and multicultural training in mental health. Her expertise includes working with survivors of abuse, immigrant families, and underserved LGBTQ youth.
The available publication highlights her focus on equity in higher education, particularly the challenges faced by minoritized women in online learning environments. Her scholarly contributions reflect a strong commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and systemic change in both educational and clinical settings.
Dr. Rodriguez has been instrumental in developing training programs and resources for LGBTQIA+ support, including co-authoring the RISE manual for the Los Angeles LGBT Center. She regularly provides guest lectures and workshops at universities and community organizations on topics such as family acceptance, bias reduction, and cultural competence.
She is an active member of WPATH and holds an LMFT license in California. Her professional training includes ASIST, ICARE, and CSE-IT, equipping her to address suicide prevention, early childhood development, and commercial sexual exploitation.
Dr. Rodriguez’s work is embedded in community engagement and liberation psychology, as demonstrated by her international presentation in El Salvador. She leads initiatives to create safe spaces for transgender students and supports institutional alignment with equity-centered values.
