Esther Takeuchi is a SUNY Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Interdisciplinary Science Department at Brookhaven National Laboratory. She holds a joint appointment at Stony Brook University, where she serves as Co-Director of the Institute of Energy, Sustainability, and Equity and Founding Director of the Center for Mesoscale Transport Properties, an Energy Frontier Research Center.
Education

- BA in Chemistry and History, University of Pennsylvania
Research Focus
Dr. Takeuchi's work spans materials science, electrochemistry, and energy storage technologies. Her leadership in battery research has earned her global recognition, including the National Medal of Technology and Innovation and induction into the National Inventors Hall of Fame.
