Esther Starry Schor is the Leonard L. Milberg '53 Professor of American Jewish Studies and Professor of English at Princeton University. She chairs the Council of the Humanities and directs the Stewart Seminars in Religion and the Program in Humanistic Studies.
- Education: BA in English and Music, Ph.D. in English from Yale University
Her academic work spans British Romanticism, Literature and Religion, and American Jewish Studies. She has taught courses such as Romantic Poetry and Poetics, Bible Criticism and Theory, and Yiddish Literature in Translation, and led the Western Humanities Sequence.
She has curated exhibitions on Emma Lazarus for the American Library Association and the Museum of Jewish Heritage. Her publications include Bearing the Dead and Bridge of Words: Esperanto and the Dream of a Universal Language.

She has contributed essays to journals like Raritan, The New Republic, and European Romantic Review, and received a residency in Venice (2016) to write poems about Sarra Copia Sullam.
