Esther Quinlivan

Esther Quinlivan is a Psychological Psychotherapist at the Department of Psychiatry and Neurosciences at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin's Campus Charité Mitte (CCM). She serves as Head of the Early Diagnosis and Intervention Center for Psychosis Berlin-Brandenburg (FeTZ) and works as a Research Fellow in the Mood Disorders and Digital Psychiatry research groups.

Her research focuses on early detection and treatment approaches for bipolar disorder and psychotic disorders. Key projects include Metacognitive Training for bipolar patients, Early Detection of bipolar disorder (BipoLife A1), Psychotherapy for younger people with bipolar disorders (BipoLife A2), Smartphone-based outpatient monitoring of early warning symptoms (BipoLife A3), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for high-risk individuals (Early CBT). Her work emphasizes developing digital tools and early intervention strategies for mood disorders.

Dr. Quinlivan is actively involved with multiple clinical and research entities including the Early Diagnosis and Intervention Center for Psychosis Berlin-Brandenburg (FeTZ), the Mood Disorders Research Group, the Digital Psychiatry Working Group, and the Prevention and Therapy Center for Bipolar Disorders. At Charité, she contributes to one of Germany's largest psychiatric departments with over 40 working groups providing comprehensive care through outpatient, day clinic, and inpatient services.
