Esther Pena Carbó

Dr. Esther Pena Carbó is an Associate Professor at the University of Navarra and a clinical collaborator in the Hematology Department at the University of Navarra Clinic. She serves as Director of the Blood Bank and is actively involved in hematology research and clinical trials.

• Graduated in Medicine (1999) from the University of Navarra.
• Specialist in Hematology and Hemotherapy (2007) from Hospital de Navarra.

Her research focuses on hematological malignancies, including lymphomas, chronic lymphoproliferative syndromes, and chronic myeloid leukemia, with a strong emphasis on clinical trials and blood bank management.

She has participated as a principal investigator in international clinical trials on Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, Chronic Myeloid Leukemia, and Idiopathic Myelofibrosis, and as a sub-investigator in lymphoma studies.

Dr. Pena Carbó has held prior roles at the Hospital de Navarra, San Miguel Clinic (Pamplona), and Navarra Hospital Complex, transitioning to her current position since December 2017.

She is affiliated with several scientific organizations, including the Spanish Society of Hematology and Hemotherapy, Spanish Society of Blood Transfusion, and the Spanish Chronic Myeloid/Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia Groups.
