Esther Lipokatic-Takacs

Dr. Esther Lipokatic-Takacs is a Lecturer in the Department of Biology Education at Leibniz University Hannover, Faculty of Natural Sciences. She holds office hours every Friday from 11:00 to 12:00 and can be reached via email at lipokatic@idn.uni-hannover.de.

Her academic journey includes a Biology degree from Leibniz University Hannover (1996–2002), followed by a PhD in Neuroanatomy at Hannover Medical School (2002–2005). Her professional career spans roles as a Research Associate in Neuroanatomy (2002–2006), Zoology (2007–2015), and Biofabrication projects (2015–2016), as well as a teacher of Biology and Chemistry since 2016.

Research interests focus on neuroscience, particularly neuronal-astrocyte communication mechanisms, peripheral nerve regeneration using Schwann cells, and circadian rhythm studies in animal models like hamsters and lemurs. She has contributed to conferences on topics ranging from calcium wave signaling to implantable tissue models in ear surgery.

Her work bridges laboratory research with educational outreach, emphasizing practical applications in science education and regenerative therapies.
