Esther Brown is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Widener University, teaching in both the School of Nursing and School of Allied Health. She holds an EdD in Education (2008), MSN in Community Health Nursing (1995), BSN in Nursing (1991), and BTh in Theology (2006). Her research focuses on the role of spirituality in nursing and healthcare education. She is a pastor and serves as president of the UAME Conference Ministerial Association (PA, DE, MD), as well as chair of the Spiritual Resources Committee for Faith Community Nurses International.
Education history includes Immaculata University (EdD, BSN, BTh), West Chester University (MSN), and Boulden Seminary (BTh). Professional affiliations include the National League for Nursing (NLN), American Nurses Association (ANA), and Sigma Theta Tau International.
Her publications emphasize compassion in nursing education, character education policy, and organ donation perceptions among African Americans.
