Esther Ato Lozano

Esther Ato Lozano serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Developmental and Educational Psychology within the Faculty of Education at the University of Murcia, Spain. Her academic work is anchored in the GIPSE (Research Group in Evolutionary Psychology), with prior affiliation to the Psychobiology and Neurobiology of Behavior research group.

She completed her Doctorate at the University of Murcia in 2003 with a thesis titled "Discomfort reaction and emotional self-regulation; a longitudinal study from 12 to 24 years of age", supervised by Dr. José Antonio Carranza Carnicero and Dr. Carmen González Salinas.

Her research centers on developmental trajectories of emotional self-regulation across adolescence and early adulthood, utilizing longitudinal methodologies within evolutionary psychological frameworks. This work bridges educational contexts and biological behavioral foundations, emphasizing critical transitions in human development.
