Esther Arkin

Esther Arkin is a Professor and Undergraduate Program Director at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics, Stony Brook University, where she has been affiliated since 1991. Her research spans Combinatorial Optimization, Computational Geometry, Robotics, and Algorithm Design.

  • B.S. in Mathematics, Tel-Aviv University (1981)
  • M.S. and Ph.D. in Operations Research, Stanford University (1983, 1986)

Her academic career includes prior visiting positions at Cornell University and Tel-Aviv University. She is renowned for her teaching excellence, recognized by multiple awards including SUNY's President's Award and departmental Outstanding Teacher honors.
