Ester Polo

Ester Polo is a Ramón y Cajal Researcher at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), affiliated with the Center for Research in Biological Chemistry and Molecular Materials (CiQUS). She previously worked at the Center for BioNano Interactions (CBNI) at University College Dublin and held postdoctoral positions under prestigious programs like Campus-Vida and Juan de la Cierva.

• Degree in Biochemistry (2006) and M.Sc. in Molecular and Cellular Biology (2009) from University of Zaragoza
• PhD at Institute of Nanoscience of Aragon (2013)

Her research focuses on smart biomimetic nanomaterials for biomedical applications, particularly drug delivery systems. Key projects include developing direct intracellular drug release mechanisms and improving ischemic stroke treatments.
