Esteban González Guardia is a Researcher affiliated with the Ontology Engineering Group (OEG) at the School of Computer Engineering, Polytechnic University of Madrid. He holds a degree in Computer Science from UPM. His work focuses on citizen science, gamification, and social networks, particularly in addressing environmental challenges like light pollution through projects such as STARS4ALL.
Before joining OEG, he interned at EADS and worked at DEIMOS-SPACE, contributing to software development. He participated in the GLORIA project, an open robotic telescope network. Currently, he contributes to STARS4ALL, a platform combating light pollution. His research intersects technology and public engagement, leveraging collaborative tools and data-driven approaches.
As part of the OEG, he collaborates on ontology engineering, semantic web, and linked data projects. The group’s achievements include methodologies like the NeOn Methodology and tools such as Morph and SPARQL-DQP. Their work spans domains like geolocation, bibliographic data, and R&D project management, with partnerships involving institutions like the National Geographic Institute and AEMET.
