Esra Yildirim

Esra Yildirim is an Assistant Professor at Gaziantep University, affiliated with the Faculty of Theology, Department of Basic Islamic Sciences. Her research focuses on Theology, Kalam, and the role of Sunnah in Islamic theology. Contact: esradelen@gantep.edu.tr.

• Education: Licenciate in Theology from Süleyman Demirel University (2006–2010); Integrated Doctorate in Basic Islamic Sciences at Gaziantep University (2014–2024).

Research Interests: Yildirim's work examines theological methodologies, particularly the integration of Sunnah in belief matters, historical Kalam traditions, and conceptual coherence in Islamic theology. Her recent publications analyze classical scholars' approaches to Sunnah in dogmatic contexts.

Publications: She authored/edited four books, including The Problem of Methodology in the Science of Theology (2017) and The Significance of the Sunnah in the Science of Theology (2024), alongside three refereed articles on Sunnah's application in theological debates.

Administrative Roles: Active in institutional governance, Yildirim served on commissions such as Domestic Horizontal Transfer (2020–2025), Domestic Quality Commission (2020), and held managerial/coordinator roles for programs like Mevlana Exchange.
